Radio Telephony
Pilots and student pilots wishing to obtain their RT licence can do so at East Fortune or Perth (courses can be arranged, preferably with more than one person at a time).
Having an RT licence is becoming more and more necessary in the light of all the long trips being undertaken. It allows the Microlight Pilot (amongst other things) to:
* receive air traffic services and weather information
* request permission to fly inside controlled airspace
* land at many of the busier airfields at which radio is compulsory
If you are interested in obtaining your RT licence (you do not have to be a member of the club) then please contact Simon Jeffrey on 07789 200968 or 01464 821425 or by email at jeffrey_simon@hotmail.com. Simon does work offshore so you may not be able to contact him immediately. If you would like to do a course at East Fortune, please let Jill Douglas know and she will see if anyone else would like to do one at the same time.
